Step 1. Click the "Messages" icon on your Facebook homepage. The Messages icon is located in the leading left edge and resembles two little overlapping speech bubbles.

Step 2. Click the discussion consisting of the message or messages you want to delete. If it is not noted on the initial Messages pop-up window, click "See All" to watch all of your personal messages. Click the conversation on that listing having the message you wish to delete.

Step 3. Click the "Actions" button and after that click "Delete Messages" on the Actions drop-down menu.

Step 4. Click the check boxes located beside the messages you want to delete.

Click "Delete" and afterwards click "Delete Messages" to confirm that you wish to remove the chosen messages.

To remove an entire conversation instead of specific messages, click "Delete Conversation" after clicking the Actions food selection in the third action.

Erasing an exclusive message in your Messages inbox does not remove it from the inbox of your discussion companion.
